Fantasy: Fantasy Football Injury
The fantasy football injury can be the most devastating part of the game. You are going to have to endure injuries all year long. Football is a rough game where players get hurt and/or injured. It is how you endure their injuries that will shape your season. Acting fast and handling your problems might be the most important aspect a manager has to deal with post draft day.
How to Handle a Fantasy Football Injury
A fantasy football injury can cripple a team. Some leagues will have injury rules where you can put a player on the injured list while others make you compensate through dropping the player or replacing him with current players on your roster. Make sure that you know your league rules before you take any action with an injury.
If a player is injured for the rest of the season, there is no need to keep him on the roster. You should be able to drop him and pick up a replacement from the free agency pool. The only downfall with this is that there are probably not going to be any quality athletes at most positions still available during the season. You are going to have to take a chance at a player with potential down the line.
Injuries to your superstars can really damage a team. This is why you need to be well rounded at each position. If you are depending on the performance of a few players for your entire season, one or two injuries can knock you out of contention. Make sure that you address this concern on draft day and do not put all your eggs in one basket. Plus, think about the prospect of injury plagued players getting injured during the season. Putting a high draft dollar on them in an early round could hurt you dramatically.
